Welcome Miranda Perkins, TNLA's New Manager of Workforce Development

TNLA is thrilled to welcome the newest member of our team, Miranda Perkins! During last year’s November TNLA State Board of Directors meeting, a strategic plan initiative was developed to focus on workforce, training, and education. As part of this initiative, the association created a new manager position to lead efforts in developing training programs and tools aimed at attracting more people to the workforce.

Miranda, who holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin and has over four years of high school teaching experience, will play a pivotal role in shaping TNLA’s Workforce Development plan. This year, she will focus on expanding TNLA’s high school curriculum, strengthening partnerships with 4-H, FFA, and the Texas Agriculture Teachers Association, and collaborating closely with universities and community colleges.

Additionally, Miranda will work to enhance our partnerships with programs that utilize TNLA’s Certification Study Materials. These programs include the Windham School District, Texas Juvenile Justice Department, the Horticultural Options in Plant Sciences (HOPS) program through Texas A&M University, and Serenity Gardens, a nonprofit veteran-owned venue providing social, vocational, and therapeutic programs for service members and their families.

We are confident that Miranda’s background and passion for education will be instrumental in driving TNLA’s workforce initiatives forward. Please join us in welcoming her to the team!
